Round 2: Translate funding to accelerate med tech development

Translate Medical Technologies has launched its second round of support packages (totalling more than £200,000) – in-kind and cash – to help academics, companies and healthcare professionals in the Leeds City Region to progress new medical technologies.

Each project supported and developed in partnership with the Translate project delivery team will draw on a range of resources, tools and perspectives, and an extensive network of contacts and complementary expertise from across the region and beyond to design, develop and deliver innovative medical technologies.

Translate Accelerator packages support early stage validation and de-risking of technologies: conducting early stage market and opportunity validation, ensuring there is a clear need for a new technology, and that the technology is designed to meet the demands of the end user from the outset. This accelerates technologies towards commercialisation or clinical adoption, and assists in attracting external funding or investment.

Translate co-development packages are also available to develop workshops that address specific unmet needs or opportunities. Ideas and solutions will be developed in the workshops, which will then be followed up and supported afterwards.

The deadline to apply is Monday 31st July for both the Accelerator and Co-Development Packages.
